An international online training program, 8 modules, 2 years, starting October 31st 2025.
Who is this for?
This two-year Transactional Analysis (TA) Supervision and Training program is designed for practitioners stepping into the roles of supervisor and trainer, offering a structured yet reflective path toward professional qualification.
High-level Overview
Year 1 focuses on foundational identity development, exploring TA philosophy, ethics, and the shifting dynamics from practitioner to trainer/supervisor, all within the context of cultural, systemic, and ecological influences. Participants engage with concepts such as transformational learning, contracting, and supervision models, fostering clarity in role definition and ethical practice.
Year 2 builds on this foundation with an emphasis on complexity, integration, and advanced development. It addresses ethical ambiguity, leadership projections, exam preparation, and the design of original supervision and teaching models. Through experiential learning, critical reflection, and collaborative support, the program equips participants with the skills, confidence, and personal philosophy needed to train and supervise effectively within the TA community.
Professional Contract
The professional contract in this training reflects a shared commitment to active, practice-based learning. Participants engage as part of a developmental group, choosing areas to investigate between sessions. While theory provides the foundation, the focus is on real-life application—integrating theory, philosophy, and practice to support meaningful professional growth.
Each module is centred around a dedicated theme and includes theoretical concepts. However, the primary aim is to create space for co-creation and intersectionality, encouraging participants to bring their own curiosities, questions, and practice needs into the session.
Participants must enrol and commit to a full training year.
Administrative Contract
Timing
Each module lasts one day from 8 AM to 4 PM, UK time, with a generous lunch break.
All modules will be delivered online and co-facilitated by both trainers.
An optional in-person workshop will be offered between Year 1 and Year 2, with further details to be shared in early 2026.

Who Are the Facilitators?
Rosalind Sharples TSTA(P)
Rosalind is the Director of Transactional Analysis Cymru. She is passionate about working with the process as it unfolds in the room and using this experience to bring theory to life. She has a background in the arts and a long history of working in creative fields, which she applies to psychological processes.
Over the last decade, she has successfully brought learners and learning facilitators together to create a vibrant TA community in West Wales. From an area where there was little psychotherapy practice, a thriving population of robust effective practitioners has emerged.
Traian Bossenmayer TSTA(O)
Traian has extensive experience in running leadership development initiatives and consulting in a variety of business contexts. Currently, he is HR Director for a large multinational gaming company, and he is also an active TSTA-O in the Romanian TA community and beyond. He is a lecturer at the MSc Organisational TA program at the Berne Institute in the UK. At his core, Traian has always been deeply interested in education and in understanding human behaviour and interactions, especially those taking place in communities, groups, and organisations.

Details of content - Year 1
Module 1 - Foundations of Self and Practice
The journey begins with group contracting, laying the foundation for collaborative learning and mutual accountability. Participants explore the core philosophy and values of TA, with a strong emphasis on identity development. This involves reflecting on their evolving professional roles and the cultural, intersectional, and ecological contexts that shape their practice.
Module 2 - Power, Ethics, and Professional Integrity
Participants deepen this reflective work by distinguishing between practitioner, supervisor, and trainer contracting. It focuses on the ethical and personal responsibilities that come with power and privilege in these roles. Through frameworks like the supervision triangle and professional codes of ethics, participants are invited to examine the depth of self-honesty and self-enquiry required for sustainable practice.
Module 3 - Becoming a Trainer: Learning, Scripts, and Transformation
The emphasis shifts to training itself—what it means to be a trainer and how participants perceive the learning process. Key concepts such as transformational learning, learning imagos, and the scripts individuals carry around learning are unpacked to help future trainers cultivate environments that support growth and change in their students.
Module 4 - The Reflective Supervisor: Models, Roles, and Meaning
Finally, we turn to supervision: its models, purpose, and relationship to personal philosophy and ethical stance. The session reinforces the importance of clear role definitions—distinguishing between practitioner, supervisor, and trainer—and how these identities intersect. Throughout the year, the program fosters critical reflection, ethical sensitivity, and clarity of purpose, equipping participants to step confidently into training and supervisory roles within the TA community.

Module 5 - Holding the complexity of leadership
Participants begin with a deep exploration of ethics in supervisory and training roles, focusing on the nuances of ambiguity, projection, and leadership dynamics. Participants examine the challenges of holding boundaries, navigating dual relationships, and maintaining clarity in their professional roles, especially in group and organisational contexts where psychological games may emerge.
Module 6 - Pathways to Qualification: Facing Scripts and Standards
Participants engage with the practicalities of the key TA qualifications related to the roles of trainers and supervisors. This session unpacks the scripts individuals may hold around exams and achievement, providing space to challenge limiting beliefs. Participants explore the exam structures, assessment criteria, and marking sheets—both for TPO, TEW, TOE, supervision and teaching exams—developing a clearer understanding of how their professional identity and philosophy align with these formal benchmarks.
Module 7 - Coming full circle: Articulating Your Professional Identity
Participants are encouraged to synthesize their learning by developing their own models for supervision and teaching. Building on the frameworks explored over the past year, they are invited to refine their theoretical stance and articulate their unique voice and methodology. This creative process supports deeper professional confidence and coherence between philosophy, identity, and practice.
Module 8 - In practice
Year 2 has emphasised consolidation, ethical depth, personal authorship, and professional readiness as participants move toward qualification and full practitioner autonomy.
The final module will include mock exams to provide participants with experiential preparation for their assessments. This practical, supportive environment allows them to test their readiness, receive feedback, and identify areas for final refinement.
